The Power of Living with Intention

There are days when everything feels so fast.

I wake up, do what I have to do, answer messages, handle responsibilities… and before I realize it, the day is over.

But in the middle of that rhythm, God has been speaking to my heart:

“Don’t live on autopilot… live with intention.

When I realized…

I realized I could be physically present with my family, but not truly connected.

I could be busy all day… but not truly full.

And I understood something important:

If I’m not intentional, I miss moments that will never come back.

My family deserves more than my time… they deserve my presence

I’ve started making small changes not perfect ones, but real ones:

  • Putting my phone away when someone is talking to me
  • Making eye contact and truly listening
  • Pausing to ask, “How are you really?”
  • Sharing simple, meaningful moments together

I was reminded of what Deuteronomy 6:6–7 says:

to talk about God in everyday life… at home, along the way, when we rest.

And that touched me, because I realized it’s not about “perfect moments,” but about present moments.

And with myself… I’m learning too

For a long time, I thought taking care of myself meant neglecting important things.

But now I see it differently.

Even Jesus would step away to be alone with the Father (Gospel of Luke 5:16).

And if He needed it… I do too.

So I’m learning to:

  • Take a few quiet minutes for myself
  • Write what I feel without judging it
  • Breathe, pause, and rest
  • Stop expecting myself to be everything for everyone

Because I can’t give peace… if I’m empty.

The art of pausing

Something I’m learning (and it’s not always easy) is to pause.

Pausing isn’t wasting time… it’s recovering what truly matters.

In the pause, I:

  • Take a deep breath
  • Hear God more clearly
  • Become aware of what I’m feeling
  • Truly connect with the people I love

Sometimes, just a few minutes of pausing can shift my entire day.

Pausing helps me respond with love instead of reacting in a rush.

A balance I’m learning

It’s not about choosing between my family or myself.

It’s about caring for both with wisdom.

I’ve noticed that when I’m healthy on the inside:

  • I love better
  • I have more patience
  • I enjoy moments more

What I’m embracing today

I don’t need to do everything perfectly.

I just need to be intentional today.

  • One real conversation
  • One unhurried hug
  • One moment of stillness
  • One intentional pause
  • One moment of rest without guilt

A word for you

You’re doing more than you think.

Even when it feels like it’s not enough, every small effort matters.

Don’t underestimate simple moments—a smile, a pause, a loving word. That’s where the most meaningful memories are built.

Keep going, one step at a time.

God sees your heart, your effort, and your intention.

You don’t have to be perfect… you just have to be present and full of love
