Leaving our comfort zone isn’t always easy. We love what feels safe, familiar, and under control. But God has a beautiful way of reminding us that growth doesn’t happen in comfort it happens in trust.
A few days ago, I was invited to be part of a podcast to share my testimony and talk about topics that are very close to my heart. I was surprised and honored, but also intimidated not because of the message itself, but because it would be in English, which is not my first language.
Even though I speak it fluently, I started to doubt myself. I was nervous about how people might react to my accent. In the past, I had heard comments that made me feel self-conscious, and those words echoed in my mind as I prepared. I wondered if people would focus more on how I spoke than on what I had to say.
In the middle of my hesitation, God gently reminded me: His plans are perfect.
If He opened that door, it means I’m already prepared.
I felt a bit like Daniel in the lions’ den except my “lions” were my fears, insecurities, and lack of confidence. And my “den” was my comfort zone, the place that felt safe but also kept me limited.
Then I realized something powerful: when God chooses to use you, He already has everything under control. All He asks for is obedience.
So, I said yes… and I did it.
The result was amazing.
The impact was exactly what God had placed in my heart. And through it all, I understood that God’s purpose in pushing me out of my comfort zone wasn’t just to do something new it was to teach me that my confidence doesn’t come from me, but from Him.
Because when we take a step of faith, we discover that the impossible becomes possible and that God is always waiting for us on the other side of fear.
“ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
— Joshua 1:9
