More Than a Vacation: A God Encounter

Family vacations have always been a special time to disconnect from the routine, enjoy the simple things, and strengthen our bond with the ones we love most. This year, we planned something different a special week to begin celebrating our daughter’s birthday. We didn’t just want to give her material gifts, but rather moments filled with love, laughter, and memories she would carry forever.

From the start, the trip was full of beautiful experiences. We visited museums that sparked our curiosity, walked through parks filled with joy and snacks, and even went to a live show that she absolutely loved. Watching her face light up, hearing her excited comments, and having my husband by my side through it all made everything even more meaningful.

Each day felt special on its own. We were living exactly what we had hoped for—quality time as a family, away from distractions and closer to what truly matters. But the most unforgettable moment was still to come.

One evening, after a wonderful family dinner, we decided to take a walk through the town center. The atmosphere was perfect: soft lights, distant music, and a peace that wrapped around us like a warm blanket. That’s when a few people approached us and kindly asked:

“Can we pray for you?”

We said yes without hesitation, never expecting that this prayer would become a divine encounter. Through these people, God began speaking to us with such clarity and love. They mentioned things we had prayed about privately—things only we, as a family, and God could possibly know.

It was a deeply moving moment. Tears flowed freely. We felt as though heaven opened right there, on a regular street, just to remind us that God sees us, hears us, and loves us deeply.

After that night, our trip took on a whole new meaning. We kept enjoying our plans, but with a deeper joy and renewed faith, knowing that we were not alone and that our prayers hadn’t gone unnoticed. What started as a birthday celebration for our daughter became a spiritual celebration for all of us.

This vacation reminded us that God isn’t limited to churches or traditional prayer moments. He can show up in the middle of a show, a walk, or a family dinner when we least expect it. All He needs is a heart that’s open.

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

— Jeremiah 33:3

That week became more than just a family getaway it turned into a God encounter, an unexpected gift we’ll never forget.
